Self-regulating electric tracing is a core tape made by uniformly extruding and wrapping a layer of PTC material between two parallel metal busbars. When the two busbars at one end of the cable are connected to the power supply, the current flows transversely from one busbar through the PTC material layer to the other busbar. The PTC layer is a resistance heating element continuously connected in parallel between the busbars, which converts electrical energy into thermal energy to provide tracing and insulation for the operating system. It is then combined with flexible detachable materials to form an insulation form.
